Available

Multiple people. One order. Each pays their share.

Group Contributions lets several people fund a single order. Each contributor pays their defined share. The order is not considered funded until all contributions are confirmed.

Note: This is Commerce "split payments" — multiple people funding one order. Not Finance's Split Pay (one person, multiple sources).

The problem

Manual tracking creates friction

Splitting group purchases manually — tracking who paid what — creates friction and disputes. Chasing people over messages loses money and goodwill.

Who it's for

Groups purchasing together

Groups purchasing together where each person contributes a defined amount toward the total. Perfect for shared gifts, team orders, or any group buy with a known target amount.

How it works

One order, many contributors

Define shares

The organiser creates the order and assigns each contributor their share. Shares can be equal or different amounts — whatever suits the group.

Publish contribution requests

Requests are sent to each contributor. Publishing a request does not debit anyone — it notifies contributors of their share.

Order funded when all confirm

Each contributor pays their portion independently. The order is not considered funded until every contribution is confirmed.

Important distinctions

  • Publishing requests ≠ debiting contributors
  • Order not funded until all confirmed

Interactive example

₦90,000 order across 3 contributors: Ada ₦40,000, Tobi ₦30,000, Chidi ₦20,000. Ada and Tobi have paid; Chidi is outstanding.

Roles and outcomes

Who does what

Organiser

Creates the order, assigns shares per contributor, publishes requests, and monitors funding progress.

Contributor
