Product Catalogue

A structured record of products a merchant offers — with variants, stock levels and pricing — that powers consistent data across conversations, pricing rules and opportunity matching.

The problem

Sellers often maintain product data in multiple places — spreadsheets, DMs, Instagram posts — leading to inconsistent prices, stale stock counts and unreliable information in buyer conversations.

Who uses it
  • ·Merchants cataloguing physical products
  • ·Sellers with multiple SKUs or variants
  • ·Businesses connecting an existing Shopify store
  • ·Any seller using Conversational AI or Pricing Engine
What it does

Specific functions

Create product records
Name, description, unit price, category and images (where supported).
Define variants
Colour, size or other attributes — each variant can carry its own stock count.
Track stock state
In stock, low stock and out of stock. Out-of-stock variants are surfaced in buyer views.
Draft / Published toggle
Items in draft are not visible to buyers or searchable by Conversational AI.
Feed downstream features
Catalogue data is the source for Conversational AI matching, Pricing Engine rules and Opportunity Engine supply.
Step-by-step scenario

Everyday Chair — illustrative example

Illustrative example. All figures fictional.

1
Merchant creates a product record
Name: "Everyday Chair". Unit price: ₦20,000. Category: Furniture.
2
Variants added
Blue: 12 units in stock. Beige: 3 units in stock. Each variant is independently tracked.
3
Record published
Draft toggled to Published. Item is now visible in buyer surfaces and matched by Conversational AI.
4
Buyer selects 3 × Blue
Cart: 3 × Everyday Chair (Blue) = subtotal ₦60,000. Stock check passes (12 available).
5
Before checkout
Subtotal ₦60,000 is passed to the Pricing Engine. If a quantity discount rule applies, the final total may differ.

How this differs from promotional posting
Product Catalogue
  • ✓Structured data — name, price, variants, stock
  • ✓Source of truth for AI and pricing
  • ✓Does not itself publish to social channels
  • ✓Consistent across all supported workflows
Instagram / social post
  • –Ad-hoc — no structured stock or variant data
  • –Not queryable by Conversational AI
  • –No pricing rule evaluation
  • –Not linked to bookings or intent matching
Frequently asked questions
Does the catalogue sync everywhere automatically?
Not by default. Catalogue items power features that are connected — such as Conversational AI and Pricing Engine. Integration with external platforms like Shopify depends on your connection settings. Confirm which surfaces are synced in your account configuration.
Can I have multiple variants per product?
Yes. Each product can have one or more variant dimensions (such as colour or size). Each variant has its own stock count and can be individually enabled or disabled.
What is the difference between the Product Catalogue and posting on Instagram?
An Instagram post is a one-off promotional image. A Product Catalogue record is structured data — it carries price, stock, variants and status — and is the source that Conversational AI, Pricing Engine and Opportunity Engine read from. Posting separately on social media does not update the catalogue.
Can I have more than one price per product?
Unit price is set at the product or variant level. Promotional pricing is handled by the Pricing Engine, which applies rules at cart evaluation time.
Is there a limit on the number of products?
Plan limits apply. Consult your Flur account details for current limits on your plan.
