Split Pay

Pay a single purchase using multiple funding sources — one person, one transaction, multiple payment legs. Each leg is tracked independently.

Problem it solves

When a purchase amount exceeds any single account balance, or when you want to spread a cost across accounts without manually pre-consolidating funds, Split Pay covers a single transaction from multiple sources.

Who uses it

One person making a purchase that spans their Flur wallet and one or more linked external accounts. Not for splitting costs between multiple people — that is Group Split.

Complete scenario

Illustrative example

Situation

Ada is purchasing an item for ₦85,000. Her Flur wallet has ₦20,000. She chooses to cover the remaining ₦65,000 from her linked bank account.

Outcome

Each leg is processed independently. The total is only confirmed when both legs succeed. Neither leg silently substitutes for the other if one fails.

Split Pay vs. Group Split

Split Pay is one person funding a single purchase from multiple sources. Group Split is multiple people each contributing their share of a shared cost. They are different features for different situations.

FAQs

Is Split Pay a loan?+

No. Split Pay draws from your own accounts — your Flur wallet and linked accounts. There is no credit involved. You are paying with your own funds across multiple sources.

What happens if one funding leg fails?+

The failed leg is shown with a "Failed" status. There is no silent substitution — Flur does not automatically draw more from another source without your awareness. You will need to address the failed leg explicitly.

Can I use more than two sources?+

The supported combinations of sources depend on the current product configuration. Check the payment screen for available options at the time of purchase.

Is Split Pay the same as Group Split?+

No. Split Pay is one person funding one purchase from multiple accounts they own. Group Split involves multiple people each paying their share of a shared expense.
