Account Information Services (AIS) brings supported external account balances and recent transactions into Flur — with your permission, and without payment authority. Financial visibility, not financial access.
AIS connects information. It does not grant permission to initiate payments from connected accounts.

The problem it solves
Most people hold money across more than one institution — a salary account at one bank, savings elsewhere, a wallet for everyday spend. Checking each separately means switching apps, entering credentials repeatedly, and mentally summing figures that are never shown side by side.
AIS brings supported account balances and transaction history into Flur so you have a single view without moving your money or giving Flur the ability to spend on your behalf.
Who uses AIS
- 1Someone who earns into one bank account and saves into another, wanting a single balance view.
- 2A user tracking monthly spending patterns across Flur and an external institution via Money DNA.
- 3Anyone who needs to know their combined available balance before making a large payment.
- 4A household member consolidating visibility without sharing actual account credentials with another person.
What AIS does
Retrieves account balance
Pulls the current available balance from supported external accounts. Balance freshness depends on the connected institution — typically updated within minutes.
Imports recent transaction history
Retrieves transaction records from connected accounts within the supported date window. Records appear in Flur's Transactions view alongside native Flur activity.
Feeds Money DNA context
With AIS active, Money DNA can incorporate external account information to produce a more complete picture of income and spending patterns.
Scope-limited by design
AIS consent covers information only. It does not grant Flur the ability to initiate transfers, make payments, or change anything on the connected account.
Step-by-step: Amara connects her bank account
Illustrative example — consistent fictional data throughout.
Grant permission
Amara opens Flur Finance and navigates to Connected Accounts. She selects Zenith Bank from the supported institutions list. She is redirected to Zenith Bank's authorisation screen and confirms read-only access. She is returned to Flur.
Flur retrieves account information
Flur requests the current balance and transaction records from Zenith Bank's AIS endpoint. The request covers account balance plus the last 90 days of transaction history (subject to institution limits).
Institution: Zenith Bank Scope: balance, transactions Date range: last 90 days Consent granted: 2026-09-29
Records appear in Flur
Amara's Zenith Bank balance (₦847,200, updated 4 min ago) appears on her Accounts overview. External transactions appear in her Transactions view, labelled with their source institution.
Zenith Bank · Current ₦847,200 · Updated 4 min ago ⬤ Read-only · 90-day history
Money DNA uses this context
On 1 October, Amara's Money DNA summary for September includes income from her Flur wallet and the Zenith Bank transaction history — giving her a more complete view of her month.

AIS vs. payment permission
The most common source of confusion: AIS does not authorise payments. Here is exactly what each type of consent covers.
| Capability | AIS consent | Payment consent |
|---|---|---|
| View current balance | ✓ | ✓ |
| View transaction history | ✓ | ✓ |
| Initiate a payment | ✗ | ✓ |
| Approve or reject a transfer | ✗ | ✓ |
| Change account details | ✗ | ✗ |
