Commerce Feature
The right access for every team member.
Team Access lets a commerce account owner assign roles to team members — giving each person access to exactly the capabilities they need, and no more. No shared passwords. No over-permissioned accounts.
The problem
Sharing one account login across a team creates security gaps and removes accountability. Giving everyone full access means a cashier can see billing, and a store assistant can change settings they shouldn't touch.
Who this is for
Commerce account owners managing a team — whether a small two-person operation or a larger merchant with distinct roles for order processing, analytics review, and account management.
What it does
Scoped roles, not shared passwords
The account owner invites team members and assigns them a role. Each role defines a specific set of permissions. A Manager can process orders and view analytics but cannot access billing. A Cashier can process orders but cannot see analytics or settings.
Commerce Team Access is scoped to commerce operations. It is separate from Finance Business subaccount roles — those are a different system with a different structure.
Key clarifications
- –Assign scope — do not share one account password across the team.
- –Commerce roles ≠ Finance Business subaccount roles.
- –The owner can revoke or adjust any role at any time.
- –Team members see only the areas their role permits.
